　　By supporting space exploration with capital and brains , U.S. has achieved great benefits in many aspects , such as telecommunication , molecular physics , quantum mechanics , biochemistry and genetic engineering ;otherwise , this country would never , never have witnessed such a superb technological progress .

　　2.要不然，otherwise，we can hardly do sth

　　By learning a foreign language , one can have a golden chance to appreciate
