Today, I did an interesting experiment with my mom and dad - boiling water with paper cups. The materials we prepared were a lighter, a disposable paper cup, half a glass of water and a candle.
We first light the candle with a lighter, let the wax oil drop on the table, fix the candle, and then move the paper cup with half a cup of water gently to the flame, and start to record the time. At first, I looked into the glass from the top, ah, the glass turned out to be as bright as a light. And I looked up and down, and the bottom of the cup was black, and I could see nothing.
After about five minutes, I felt that the hand holding the paper cup was slightly hot, so I stretched out a finger to test the water temperature. The water was a little hot, estimated to be about 20 degrees. At this time, I can't help worrying, "will the bottom of the cup be burned?" "Will the water leak out of the hole?". I continued to hold the cup with my heart and wings, while watching the change of the bottom of the cup carefully. As time went by, I felt my hands numb and my mood became more and more tense. About two minutes later, I saw that the water seemed to be about to open, like tiny bubbles, like crystal clear pearls coming out of the water. But what I was worried about never happened. I finally took a breath of relief, moved the cup down from the fire, and pushed the bottom of the cup hard. "Ah!" I screamed. It was the "black ink" on the bottom of the cup that stuck to my hand. It was black, but the cup was intact.
"Why, eh?" Although I don't know the mystery, this happy experience makes me realize that the mystery of science is endless.
