JAKARTA, Nov. 7 -- Indonesia's female lifter Sri Hartati has broken two world records at the ongoing World Open Powerlifting Championship in Halmstad, Sweden, also obtaining three gold medals.
Competing in the 57kg class, Hartani broke the world record with a lift of 225kg in the squat, and lifted 565kg in total to become the champion of this category, reported Indonesia's state newswire Antara on Wednesday.
Russian lifters Anna Ryzkova and Victoria Karlysheva came second and third, lifting totals of 550kg and 525kg respectively.
Antara also came first in the deadlift with 190 kg, and came second in the bench press with a total lift of 150kg.
Chairman of the Indonesian Weightlifting Association Rosan P Roeslani said that he was proud of Hartati's performance in a world-class tournament.
Indonesia has sent two male and two female lifters to the World Open Powerlifting Championship, which opened on November 4 and concludes on November 10.
