for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver will be lit on Thursday at the Sacred Ground of Ancient Olympia. The ceremony will begin at 12:00 in the Temple of Hera and the Ancient Stadium following the ritual of the Summer Olympic Games.
The President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge, the CEO of the Organizing Committee for Vancouver 2010, John Furlong, will attend the lighting ceremony.
The torch relay on Greek territory will last eight days and the flame will be delivered on Oct. 29 to the organizing committee for Vancouver 2010 at the Panathenaiko Stadium in Athens.
