国内英语资讯:Senior CPC official urges united front to gather wisdom using Xi thought

BEIJING, June 4 -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Wang Yang on Monday urged the united front to gather wisdom and strength by using Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks at a symposium held by the united front to study and implement Xi's thought and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress.

Wang asked the united front to "consolidate its common theoretical and political foundation, implement all CPC policies and guidelines and pool strength and wisdom for national rejuvenation," stressing that "utmost efforts should be made to unite positive strength, strive for neutral strength and transform negative strength."

The united front should persistently adhere to the CPC leadership and profoundly understand the tremendous advantages and bright prospect of China's new party system, said Wang.

Wang stressed that officials should be adept at enabling non-CPC personages to understand and recognize CPC policies and guidelines through the united front mechanism, to gather the broadest possible consensus.

The united front was also asked to improve its work style while preventing "formalities for formalities' sake, bureaucratism and vulgar behavior."

The opening ceremony of the symposium was presided over by You Quan, a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Wang also heard a report on the work of the Central Institute of Socialism, asking the institute to consolidate the foundation of research and play a bigger role in promoting the cause of the united front in the new era.
