A millionaire inventor has spent years designing the world’s most high-tech off-road vehicle – as a camper van for his four year old daughter.

Bran Ferren, the 61-year-old co-founder and chief creative officer of Applied Minds, a technology and design firm based in California, has created a 23 ton adventure vehicle worthy of millions of dollars in order to take his daughter Kira round the world.

1. Supertruck

The KiraVan is a six wheeled all-terrain ‘supertruck’ capable of housing a family of three for a fortnight, travelling 2,000 miles without refuelling and tackling slopes of up to 45 degrees.

2. Multifunctional Vehicle

The vehicle’s huge trailer, which is 31 feet long and more than 10 feet high, houses a kitchen, bathroom and ‘penthouse’ suite.

3. Kitchen

Fully stocked, the kitchen could provide for a family of three for two to three weeks; if some onboard gear were to be replaced with extra food, they could last as long as six weeks. Packed with a convection oven, microwave oven, induction and infrared cooktops, a fridge, and a freezer, the kitchen has all the basic necessities for a five-star meal.

The KiraVan houses an ecofriendly bathroom, an upscale kitchen, and a luxe dining area. The only thing missing is a built-in coffee machine. A countertop one will have to do.

The super vehicle could also someday help researchers, photographers, and anyone else who needs to travel to the most unreachable places on earth for long stretches of time.

6. Travel with Daughter

The inventor hopes to take Kira to visit the Mojave Desert, Canada and Europe. He’s looking forward to spending time with his daughter, and he said: ‘‘I hope she likes this truck.”
