Tell的译法

英语有许多习惯用法，尤其是口语，有些话看似简单，但照字面译往往令人茫然不解，以tell为例可举许多例子，表现的含义和语气各不相同：

　　1.Tell me another.

　　我不信这件事。

　　2.I'm telling you.

　　注意听我说

　　3.Don't tell me you don't know.

　　你还能不知道？/我不信你会不知道。

　　4.Tell me,it was a misunderstanding.

　　这肯定是一场误会吧？

　　5.You tell me,you love me.

　　你许愿你爱我。

　　6.Don't let him tell you that.千万别信他。

　　7.He couldn't tell himself why he had kept up all the photos.

　　他自己也解释不清楚为什么一直保存着这些照片。(这里译成“告诉自己”讲不通。)

　　8.Tell it to sweeny.

　　才没那样的事呢！(这里的sweeny源自英国作家George Dibdin Pitt所著的一个剧本中专门谋杀顾客的理发师。)
