LONDON, Nov. 20 -- Former European champion Nigel Levine of Britain has been banned from competition for failing a drugs test, the UK Anti-Doping announced on Tuesday.
Levine, who won a European outdoor relay gold in 2017 and an indoor relay gold in 2013, has been banned from all sport for four years.
It was revealed that the 29-year-old, who competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 4X400m relay event, tested positive for banned asthma drug clenbuterol following an out-of-competition test on 24 November 2017.
Clenbuterol is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list because it is deemed a performance-enhancing drug and can induce weight loss.
