HAIKOU, China, Nov. 9 -- World No.4 player Kim Ga Young of South Korea was knocked out by Xia Yuying of China 9-7 at the 2017 Hainan Chengmai.CITIC Guoan Cup Women's 9-ball World Championship on Thursday here.

Japan's Kawahara Chichiro, last year's runner-up, was beaten by Chen Chia-Hua of Chinese Taipei by 7-4.

Defending champion Han Yu of China became the first player into the last 16 after she beat Chen Ho-Yun of Chinese Taipei.

"I was a little bit surprised that I could be the first one advancing to the top 16 actually, but I was happy about the results," said Han.

"I'm on my way to be better and try every effort to the next games." she said.

World No. 1 Chen Siming of China beat another Chinese player Gao Meng 9-4, and Kelly Fisher of Britain beat Jasmin Ouschan of Austria 7-5 to enter the next round.
