Researchers from the University of Nevada in the US may have found the perfect way to make a man attractive –ensure he has a pooch in tow.

美国内华达大学研究人员可能已经发现使男性更有吸引力的最佳方式：确保他牵着一只汪星人。

They completed a study that looked at the role of pets in dating. A sample of 1,210 online daters, 61 per cent of whom were female, responded to a survey about what they look for in a prospective partner.

他们完成了一项研究，旨在观察宠物在约会当中扮演的角色。1210名网上约会对象（其中61%为女性）为“他们希望潜在男（女）友有身上有什么特质”的调查做了反馈。

The findings, which were published in a scientific journal called Anthrozoos, demonstrated that women were more than twice as likely as men to say that they were attracted to someone because they owned a pet.

调查结果公布在《人与动物》科技期刊上，结果显示：女性比男性更有可能被有宠物的约会对象所吸引，可能性是男性的两倍以上。

Female participants also said that they were more than twice as likely to judge their potential partner based on how they interacted with their pet.

女性受访者还称她们很可能会根据潜在男友与其宠物交流的方式对其进行评价，这一点的可能性也是男性的两倍。

"Results show that women express more discerning views of the role of pets in dating than men," a researcher undertaking the study said.

"Women seemed to rely upon cues of how a partner interacted with a pet more than men did in determining whether or not the prospective partner was worth dating or considering for a longer-term relationship."

Despite this being news to some, others have argued that this has been public knowledge for a while. One Instagram account, that showcases "dudes with dogs [that] will make you drool”, called 'Hot Dudes With Dogs' has nearly 280,000 followers.
