中国骄傲! 李娜入选国际网球名人堂

Chinese tennis legend Li Na will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Li is the first Asian player to receive the sport's ultimate honor.

中国网球传奇李娜将入选国际网球名人堂。李娜是首位获得这一网球界至高荣誉的亚洲球员。

She was joined by Mary Pierce and Yevgeny Kafelnikov for the hall's Class of 2019, which was announced at the Australian Open.

国际网球名人堂在近日的澳大利亚网球公开赛上公布了2019年的入选名单，李娜、玛丽·皮尔斯以及卡费尔尼科夫成功入选。

Li retired in 2017 because of recurring knee injuries, eight months after winning that year's Australian Open and rising to a career-high second in the WTA ranking.

李娜2017年因膝伤复发宣布退役，而8个月前她刚刚获得当年的澳网冠军，在世界网球协会的排名中升至第二位，这是其职业生涯中的最高排名。

Her first Grand Slam trophy came at the 2011 French Open, where she defeated four top-10 opponents along the way.

Those on-court achievements, along with Li's engaging personality, helped spur interest in tennis at home in China.

"I have loved seeing the sport grow in China," Li said in a statement, "and I'm proud to be part of that history."

The formal induction ceremony will be held July 20 in Rhode Island.
