从2008年年底开始，国内多个城市陆续出现“甲客族”。在网上登记的“甲客族”基本都是驾驶10万元左右车辆的私家车主，车主年龄在40岁以下。油价不断上涨，养车费用居高不下，由此催生了这一群族。
