我们所处的“急时代”

　　步履匆忙好像是每个生活在大城市的人共同的特点。人们永远都在赶时间，生怕慢下来就会被这个社会抛弃似的。

　　The age of fast pace is a period of time when people are experiencing a fast-paced life as well as a tight work schedule. People in this period are under a lot of pressure, always in heated competition, and never have a minute of rest.

　　急时代（the age of fast pace）是指生活、工作节奏过快的时代。压力大、竞争激烈、忙碌劳累是生活在这一时代的人的特点。

　　People often press the close button when they step into an elevator instead of waiting for it to close automatically, drivers behind you honk their horns repeatedly if you are just a few seconds slow at the turn of a green light.

　　电梯明明可以自动关闭，总有人急切地伸出手去按关门键；绿灯亮了汽车起步晚半秒钟，后面的司机就会按喇叭催促。

　　People will never experience the pleasure of being slow because they are always in a hurry. They are overworked mentally and physically, without knowing where they are going.

　　因为急，人们体会不到慢的快乐与愉悦。在急时代中，所有人的精力和体力都在透支，却很少有人能说清楚自己的目的地在哪里。
