复习能使知识长期保持在记忆中，在需要时，能准确无误地再现，并能加以运用。要达到知识的巩固，理解是前提，复习是手段，复习能使知识在记忆中得到强化和保持，但复习要做到科学性、系统性、经常性，才能卓有成效，对刚进入初三的同学来说，要抓好复习巩固这一环节，订好切实可行的复习计划。
一、及时复习。
根据艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线，新学的知识开始时遗忘率最高，所以抓住及时复习非常必要，如，学习了新单词后每天都要读、背，或使用这些词，哪怕课余、饭后的几分钟读上一、二遍，就能强化记忆的痕迹，才能保证新授课能顺利进行；
二、新旧交替复习。
在接受新知识前要复习前一次的内容，建立新旧知识的相互联系，使知识系统化。如牛津英语中的英英解释，通常都是用已学过的英文解释生词，自己多试着去解释，很自然，复习巩固也就渗透其中了；
三、阶段目标性复习。
在教完一个单元后，要把这一阶段所学的知识理清楚，重点找出这一阶段存在的问题，在复习的同时提纲挈领地列出基本内容、重点和关键以及和前面的知识的联系，使知识系统化、整体化，从而达到知识的深化。还要把一个单元中所做的练习中的错误收集整理到错误集上，并做出相应的注解，经常复习。错误的答案不要擦掉，和正确的答案形成对比，就会使你印象深刻，以免再犯同样的错误，以巩固加深知识，防止遗忘的发生。
