据介绍，黄龙风景区位于四川省松潘县境内，岷山主峰雪宝顶脚下，主要因佛门名刹黄龙寺而得名。它是一条长约7公里，宽约300米的钙化山峡，周围环绕着林木，幽幽的原始森林，山峡中3400多个天然玉成的华泉彩池顺坡而下，大者亩余，小者如盆、如碗、如杯，池壁似黄玉砌成，玲珑剔透，一派富丽。池水五彩缤纷，变化万千又都清澈透明，泌人心脾。从空中俯瞰，在莽莽原始森林中，黄龙如一条凌空腾飞的巨龙，那层层彩池就像巨龙身上的片片鳞甲，映衬着雪白的卧峰，苍翠的森林和满天的云霞，五彩斑斓，如梦如幻，极为瑰丽相传黄龙真人在此修炼成仙，故此山此水有此仙风道骨，黄龙县大禹治水，功成在此留连，方有运琼浆满溢，漾红荡绿的瑶池美景。这里以彩池、滩流、雪山、峡谷、古寺、民俗“六绝”着称于世。被誉为“圣地仙境，人间瑶池”。
