继音乐电影《爱乐之城》大获成功后，环球影业宣布将为十年前的卖座影片《妈妈咪呀》推出续集，企图再掀音乐片热潮。续集将由原班人马打造，包括梅姨、科林叔、布鲁斯南在内的老戏骨都会悉数回归。续集计划在2018年7月上映。
