这些英语习语，一眼看透你的健康

1. be (as) fit as a fiddle

1. 非常健康

黄老板在《Galway Girl》里唱到：

She played the fiddle in an Irish band.

她在一支爱尔兰乐队演奏小提琴。

有人说，小提琴是乐器中的贵族，所以要精心保养才行。

由此可知，和小提琴一样fit（健壮的，健康的），就是非常健康的意思啦。

My grandmother's 89, but she's as fit as a fiddle.

我祖母已经89岁了，但身体仍很健康。

2. 健康范本

picture除了表示“图画；照片”，还有“化身；体现；典型”的意思，所以这个习语就有“健康的化身”的意思。

That boy is the picture of health.

那男孩非常健康。

3. have a splitting headache

3.头痛欲裂

这个词组简直是为偏头痛患者准备的啊。split表示裂开，用来形容头痛欲裂想撞墙很合适啦。

I had a splitting headache last night.

4. be/feel under the weather

4. 生病；觉得不舒服

这个习语大家很熟悉了，关于这个习语的起源有这么一种说法：18世纪中期，人们出海遭受暴风雨天气，很多人就会晕船生病，under the weather就受天气影响的意思。

这个习语很好理解，turn表示转向，转弯，take a ... turn就是“朝…发生变化”的意思。

9. 死，死亡

这个习语在英国通常表示自然死亡。

10. 看起来／感觉病得不轻

warm up表示“活跃起来；热身”，死亡都在热身了，恐怖吧！
