Ceara scored the game's first two goals. Their first came in the 16th minute when Nicacio angled in a tough shot. The team added to their lead in the 65th minute when Magno Alves dribbled through the defense and blew the ball past keeper Julio Cesar.

Corinthians was able to score their first goal in the 70th minute when Paulinho approached the goal and drove the ball past a diving keeper Michel Alves. As the match was coming to an end, the team scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute when Defederico's stopped ball looped over the defense and into the net.

The draw takes Corinthians to their 49th points, remaining in second place. In the 28th round, the team will travel to face Atletico-MG on October 6 when Ceara who improved to 13th place with 32 points, will host Internacional.
