　　经过前几年的普及，大家都知道草根的英文是grassroot。那么，草根们的领袖用英语怎么说呢？

　　Grasstop is the leadership in a community or organization. This term is a play on grassroots, the ordinary people of a community or organization.

　　Grasstop指某个社区或组织的领袖，即“草根领袖”。Grasstop这个词是在grassroots（草根）一词基础上演化而来，草根指社区或组织里的那些普通人。

　　Since at least 1912 the word "grassroots" has been used mostly in a political context, where it refers to the rank-and-file of the electorate, a political party, or some other political organization. If the grassroots form the base of the political pyramid, the grasstops form the apex, the small group that consists of the elite and powerful members of the body politic.

　　至少从1912年起，草根一词就大量用于政治语境，用来指代普通选民、某个政党或者某个政治组织。如果说草根（grassroots）构成政治金字塔的底座的话，那么草根领袖（grasstop）则是构成塔尖的一份子，这一小部分人包括了政治圈里的精英和有权势的成员。
