你们公司有“首席隐私官”吗？

　　今年的315晚会爆出某商业银行员工出售储户资料谋利的行为，这两天又听说某购物网站大量用户帐户被盗的资讯。在互联网无处不在、无所不能的今天，我们要怎样保护我们的隐私信息呢？各公司设立“首席隐私官”真的能管用吗？

　　The Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) is a senior level executive within a business or organization who is responsible for managing the risks and business impacts of privacy laws and policies. The position is to ensure that personal data – whether of employees, customers or its clients’ customers – is handled appropriately.

　　首席隐私官（Chief Privacy Officer，CPO）指一家公司或机构中负责保密政策及规定相关的风险和商业管理高级执行官。该职位的主要责任是确保个人信息得到妥善处理，这里的个人包括公司员工、顾客或者公司客户的顾客等。

　　The CPO position is relatively new and was created to respond to both consumer concern over the use of personal information, including medical data and financial information, and laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, legislation concerning data protection.

　　首席隐私官是一个新兴的职位。创立这样一个职位是为了应对客户对医疗及金融等个人信息使用的关注，同时也是对数据保护立法的回应。

　　Data is the raw material for many companies, like steel used to be in the old days. You have to have procedures when handling private information, like you need to have procedures when handling chemicals.

　　对很多公司来说，数据就是他们的原材料；就像过去钢材是很多地方的原材料一样。所以，处理个人信息的时候我们必须遵照一定的程序，这跟我们在处理化学药品时也要遵照程序是一个道理。
