北京电影学院65周年校庆众星云集

In 1950, China's first college on film studies, theBeijing Film Academy, was founded in a courtyard inthe downtown of China's capital. During the past 65years, it has taught thousands of students, many ofwhom earned their fame worldwide.

中国第一所关于电影研究的大学--北京电影学院，于1950年成立于中国的首都市中心的一块院子里。在过去的65年里，数千万名学生从这里毕业，他们中的很多人获得名誉全球。

One of the alumni was Zhang Yimou, who graduated32 years ago. The famous director won manyawards including the Golden Lion, Golden Bear andGrand Jury prizes, and three of his films were nominated for the Academy Award. He was alsochief director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games.

最有名的校友之一是张艺谋，他32年前毕业于此。作为著名导演，他赢得了包括金狮奖，金熊奖和评审团大奖在内的众多奖项，并且他监制的三部电影也获得了奥斯卡奖的提名。他也是2008年北京奥运会开幕式和闭幕式的总导演。

"The Beijing Film Academy changed my destiny, as well as many others," he said at the redcarpet show in the college Saturday afternoon.

Teachers and students from the college have taken part in the production of 64 percent of allthe domestic films so far.

Actor Chen Kun entered the college in 1996. "My teacher Mr. Cui told us to be good peoplebefore becoming good actors," he recalled. "Only after you learn how to be a good person, canyou play good roles in films."

Directors Wang Xiaoshuai, Lu Chuan and actress Zhao Wei also appeared at the red carpetshow, among others.

A forum of leaders from international film academies also kicked off Saturday, with 30participants from 29 renowned colleges worldwide, including Jane Roscoe, director of LondonFilm School, and Elizabeth M. Daley, dean of School of Cinematic Arts in the University ofSouthern California.

Experts at the forum agreed that the development of Chinese market brought opportunities forthe global film industry, and Chinese filmmakers contributed a lot to the world.

Box office income in China has reached 17.5 billion yuan ($2.75 billion) so far this year, up 5percent compared with the same period last year. Nearly half of the income came fromdomestic films.

截至目前，中国的年票房总收入达到了175亿元(27.5亿美元)，与去年同期相比增长了5%，这其中近一半的收入来自国内的电影。

This year also marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of Chinese film, and the 120thanniversary of the world film industry.
