从一年级开始，一条友谊的尺子就把我和黄杰连在一起。我们之间从未发生过争吵，两人互帮互助，亲密得简直就像一个人。

一次期末考试，还有几分钟就要开始了，同学们都在做考前准备。我一翻开笔盒，忽然发现忘记带尺子。心里想，没有尺子哪行呀？去卖一定来不及了，我急得真是要哭了。这时，我的好朋友黄杰说：“叶威，怎么啦？”他看我急成一团，便毫不犹豫地跑回到自己的座位上，只听“啪”的一声，我回头一看，黄杰手里正拿着两截折断的尺子，将其中的一截塞进我的手里。我愣住了，“啊，多么漂亮的新塑料尺子呀。”我深情地望着黄杰，手里紧紧地捏着半截尺子，不知说什么时好。他呢，冲我微微一笑，说：“快拿去吧。”这时，预备铃响了，我赶紧回到了座位上，等待着考试。

When I looked back, Huang Jie was holding two broken rulers in his hand and thrust one into my hand. I froze. "Ah, what a beautiful new plastic ruler." I look at Huang Jie affectionately, holding a half ruler tightly in my hand. I don't know what to say. He smiled at me and said, "take it." At this time, the preparation bell rang, and I hurried back to my seat, waiting for the exam.

放学后，我又从铅笔盒里拿出那半截尺子，像欣赏一件珍品，爱不释手，我决定把它珍藏起来。因为在短短的半截尺子上凝聚着我俩之间的深厚友谊和黄杰那永远值得我学习的助人为乐的好品质。
