小兰的姑娘的邻居是一位年迈的苗族老奶奶，她姓王，人们都叫她王奶奶。

小兰经常照顾王奶奶。这些天王奶奶常常头晕。这天她洗了一会衣服感觉不舒服便走到床上躺下了。小兰做完功课，听到王奶奶家没动静，很不放心，就走到她家看看。她一进门，就看到王奶奶在睡觉，阳台上却有一堆脏衣服。她想：对了！王奶奶这些天身体不好，那我就帮她洗吧！于是，她轻手轻脚走进了王奶奶家的阳台，关上了阳台的门，悄悄地洗起衣服来。尽管天气并不炎热，但一颗颗黄豆般大小的汗珠还是从小兰的脸上、背上滑落。不一会，衣服洗好了。她还看到旁边有一罐天蓝色的颜料和一张白色的布。她又把白布给染好颜色。
