你们远看，长城就像一条长龙，在崇山峻岭之间万蜿盘旋。从东头的山海关到西头的嘉峪关，一共有一万三千公里，多雄伟啊！

现在，我们就在长城脚下。这一段长城修筑在八达岭上，高大坚固，是用巨大的条石和城砖筑成的。城墙顶上辅着的方砖，十分平整，像宽大的马路，城墙外有两米多高的垛子。垛子上有方形的嘹望台和射口，是屯兵使用的，每隔三百多米就有一个城台，打仗时，屯兵就可以互相呼应了。

大家现在来到了长城上了。站在长城上，踏着脚下的方砖，很自然的就想起了古代人们建造长城的艰辛吧！大家看看这些条石，一块就有三千多斤重。那时候，什么车也没有，就靠这无数的肩膀，无数只手，一步一个脚印地抬上那个陡峭的山岭，多少劳动人民的血汗和智慧，才凝结成这前不见头，后不见尾的万里长城啊。
