ATHENS, Dec. 4 -- Gianluigi Buffon and midfielder Miralem Pjanic are both in doubt for Juventus's Tuesday night Champions League game against Olympiakos due to injury, the side's coach Massimiliano Allegri announced yesterday.
In the last three seasons, Juventus have hit second on the table two times. This time in Athens, they need to win to ensure their passage to the knockout phase.
"Tomorrow could be decisive. We are still evaluating Buffon and Pjanic, who is suffering from a muscle strain," said Allegri.
"The gratifying thing is Gonzalo Higuain will be on the pitch tomorrow, because he is doing well both physically and mentally."
According to Allegri, tomorrow's match is essential for Juventus, and qualifying for the knockout round is their first objective of the season.
"Either we win or we run the risk of exiting the Champions League. Tomorrow (Tuesday), our approach must be spot on. We have to be patient and take our chances to win the game," he said.
