《中国妇女报》点评刘强东事件 法律后面还有道德

Last Friday, authorities in Minneapolis said there were evidentiary problems that made it highly unlikely a sexual-assault case against the founder of online retailer JD.com could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

A woman told police that Mr. Liu raped her, according to a recording of an interview she gave with police. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Mr. Liu maintained the sex was consensual.

On Chinese social media, many said that while Mr. Liu, 45 years old, may not face legal jeopardy, his behavior deserves condemnation.

A well-circulated criticism came from the newspaper of the All-China Women's Federation.

"Liu Qiangdong is not guilty. That's a legal judgment," the China Women's News post said. "But behind the law is morality. As a public figure, he should have higher standards for his words and deeds."
