菲戈：西班牙世界杯夺冠没戏

Figo, who made over 125 appearances and scored more than 30 goals for his country, says Vicente del Bosque’s outfit do not have enough quality to retain their title.

Spain have won three consecutive major tournaments between 2008 and 2017, however they were convincingly brushed aside by Brazil when the two teams met in the Confederations Cup final last year.

"I do not think Spain will win the World Cup,” Figo told Laureus.com. “I don’t think they have the quality to do so. It will be difficult for them to win, but not impossible.”

Instead, Figo believes Brazil could win the tournament as they have a “great coach” and the advantage of home support.

"I think it helps to be playing at home. I know the Brazil coach [Luis Felipe Scolari] well and I think he's a great coach for this type of tournament and the country will help to support the team,” Figo added.

“It will be very, very difficult for other teams against Brazil [because of the support].”

The 41-year-old, who made over 160 appearances for Real Madrid, then backed his former club to win the Champions League on Saturday when they take on city rivals Atletico in Lisbon.

"I think Real Madrid will win because the last time they won, I was there [as a player] in 2002. So it's pretty special. I hope Real win, but you know that in a football final anything can happen."

相反，菲戈认为巴西将赢得世界杯冠军，因为他们拥有一个“伟大的教练”，又有主场的优势。

菲戈还补充道：“我认为在主场比赛非常有帮助，我特别了解巴西教练斯科拉里（Scolari），我认为，对于这种比赛，他非常有经验，而且整个国家都会支持他们的球队。”

“由于这种支持，其它球队要想对抗巴西球队是非常困难的。”

这位41岁的前皇马球星曾为皇马效力超过160场比赛。周六，他对老东家击败同城对手马竞赢得欧冠冠军表示了支持。

“我认为皇马会赢，因为上一次在2002年他们就赢了，当时我还是场上球员。那种感觉非常特殊。我希望皇马能赢，但是你要知道在决赛中什么事儿都有可能发生。”
