President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney met in Hempstead, New York Tuesday evening for the second of three presidential debates, moderated by CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley.

Second presidential debate: The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.

总统候选人第二场辩论：第二场辩论将采取市政厅选民大会的形式，民众就国际和国内议题向候选人提问，每位候选人都有2分钟的回答时间，主持人也有1分钟的时间帮助促进讨论。参与者将是由盖洛普咨询公司选择仍未确定投票意向的选民（此次共有80人）。

Format: The moderator will call on members of the audience (and draw questions from the internet). Each candidate will have 2 minutes to respond to each question. Following those initial answers, the moderator will invite the candidates to respond to the previous answers, for a total of 1 minute, ensuring that both candidates receive an equal amount of time to comment. In the spirit of the Town Hall, all questions will come from the audience (or internet), and not the moderator.

市政厅辩论模式具体流程：主持人会抽取观众中的一员来提问（也会从网络上抽取问题），每位候选人都有2分钟的时间来回答每个问题。在观众的最初提问后，主持人也有一分钟的时间来帮助候选人继续讨论之前的回答，并保证每位候选人都有同样多的回答时间。根据市政厅选民大会的精神，所有的问题都是由观众提出的（或来源网络），而非主持人。
