英国纸制圣诞树成新宠 865元搬回家

It may be a rather sparse substitute for a traditional Christmas tree. But this minimalist festive alternative is proving to be something of a hit, according to its sellers John Lewis.

It said sales of the tree, made of paper, were up 238 per cent on this time last year – despite costing up to £85.

And it is outselling other fake, plastic trees two to one, the retailer said.

The Pre-lit LED Snowy Paper went down so well last Christmas that John Lewis said customers were contacting stores as early as June to ask when it would be available for this year’s festivities.

The retailer said there had been a shift away from traditional trees in favour of more unusual, pine-needle free creations.

A spokesman said: “Many households now display two or more Christmas trees in different rooms of the home and even outdoors. We believe the popularity of the paper tree is down to the rise of the “multi- tree household.”

The paper tree is available in two heights – a 4ft version for £50 and a 7ft tree at £85.

一位发言人说：“如今许多家庭会在家里不同的房间里、甚至是屋外摆放两棵或更多的圣诞树。我认为这种纸制圣诞树之所以如此受欢迎要归功于这些需要多棵圣诞树的家庭。”

这种纸制圣诞树有两种高度可供选择——一种高4英尺(约1.2米)售价50英镑(约509人民币)，另一种高7英尺(约2米)，售价85英镑(约865人民币)。
