体坛英语资讯：Egypt beat Kenya 86-82 in Africa Basketball Zone V qualifiers

KAMPALA, June 26 -- The Egyptian women's national basketball team on Wednesday started their campaign in the 2019 Zone 5 Africa Basketball qualifiers with a hard fought 86-82 win over Kenya.

"I am happy that we started off the tournament with a win," Egypt's captain Menna Award told Xinhua.

Other teams participating in the tournament include hosts Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. The teams are fielding both the men's and women's teams.

The best two teams will qualify for the inaugural Federation of International Basketball Association AfroCan tournament which will be hosted by Mali. The AfroCan is a tournament designed for players who feature in their domestic leagues.
