来自陌生人的帮助意外温暖

I live in an area that recently got a good amount of snow.

我居住的地方最近下了好几场大雪。

Here I am, sitting on my couch watching TV when I get a knock on my door.

这天，我正坐在沙发上看着电视，突然听到一阵敲门声。

Expecting a package, I look out the window but I don’t see a delivery vehicle.

我以为是我的包裹到了，就从窗户看向窗外，却没有看到送快递的邮车。

I’m not dressed to answer the door so I scramble to get dressed and answer the door.

我没有穿外衣，不太方便去开门，于是我赶紧穿好衣服，打开了门。

Standing outside is a man with a heavy coat, gloves, and a hat and he asks me "Can I help you shovel your driveway?".

门外站着一个男人，他穿着厚厚的外套，戴着手套和帽子。他问我：“我能帮你把车道上的积雪铲干净吗？”

When he left, I saw him proceed to the surrounding houses and ask my other neighbors if they needed help.

我答应了他。当他铲完雪离开的时候，我看到他走向附近的人家，询问周围的邻居他们是否需要帮助。

To be clear, it’s still snowing and is still below freezing outside.

我得说一句，当时外面还下着雪，温度还在零度以下，严寒刺骨。

This melted my heart. I’m so glad there are people like this in the world.

这个人的举动让我心中涌起一股暖流。世界上还有如此善良的人，为此我心存感恩。
