University of Oklahoma's Blake Griffin has been selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the number one overall choice in Thursday's NBA Draft. The 2.08-meter, 113 kg forward dominated the paint at both ends of the floor for the University of Oklahoma over the last two years.

A 20-year-old Oklahoma City native, Blake averaged 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds last season for the Sooners and was the consensus collegiate Player of the Year.

The 30-team NBA was holding its two-round draft at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
