体坛英语资讯：Sevilla striker Chevanton ruled out for the season

Sevilla have had Uruguayan striker Javier Chevanton for the rest of the season with a knee injury. The club website announced on Thursday that Chevanton needs an operation to remove a cyst on his left knee.

"We have tried to treat him with non-invasive treatments, but in the end he will be operated on next week," explained Sevilla club doctor Adolfo Munoz.

"The operation will be carried out by Mikel Sanchez, the man who carried out his last examination and Chevanton will be out of action for between three and five months," added Doctor Munoz.

Chevanton has been at the Spanish club for three seasons, but a series of injuries mean he has only started seven games in that time.
