电影情节

《天才小子》又译“神奇小子”（Wonder Boys）本片中迈克尔-道克拉斯(Michael Douglas)饰演一个曾经是小说家、年届中年的文学教授，七年前他曾写出了一部获奖小说，并因此被人们称为“奇迹小子”，但是几年过后却没有新作问世。

但是现在他的世界在一夜间变得灰暗：年纪比他小一截的妻子离他而去；一个已婚女友告诉他她已怀了他的孩子；他的编辑为他出新书，这部新小说已经写了好几年，其实完成这部小说对他来说并无什么困难，他只是害怕这部新书与他以前的那部杰作相去甚远，从而使他文学偶像的地位受到质疑。此时他的得意弟子(Tobey Maguire)遇上不少麻烦……后来他发现什么才是自己生命中的真爱，而生活的难题竟自然地迎刃而解。
