　　7-day Holiday

　　A 7-day holiday came into effect on May Day for several years. Such a week-long holiday has brought a lot of benefits to the society and people. For individuals, it enables them to have more time for whatever they are interested in. They can make full use of the 7 days for a good rest, shopping or traveling. For the society, the 7-day holiday well serves the purpose of stimulating and promoting the development of tourism.

　　However, this expected holiday policy also has a dark side. Owing to the large population of China, most peoples travel experiences during the first 7-day holiday, though well planned in advance, turned sour; they couldnt book railway tickets; hotels were packed; tourist attractions were all full of people. No wonder that a flood of complaints followed the week - long holiday.

　　As the saying goes, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Longer holidays are certainly desirable, but the government should see that related facilities, such as transportation system and accommodation, are promptly adapted to the need of holiday activities.
