　　1. disguise v. 化装

　　She disguised herself as a man, but she couldnt disguise her voice.

　　她把自己乔装成一个男子，但她改变不了自己的声音。

　　2. dispose of v. 去掉; 处理

　　词义辨析：deal with, cope with, dispose of, manage, handle

　　deal with: 既可指处理具体事情，也可指处理或解决具有抽象意义的问题。

　　cope with: 指成功地处理或对付更为重大，更为严重的问题或事物。

　　dispose of: 与deal with 同义，普通用法。

　　manage: 指处理日常事务与工作，也可指经营管理。

　　handle: 从原义手柄，转引申为作处理解时，其内涵是管理和操纵。

　　I want to dispose of these old books.

　　我想处理掉这些旧书。

　　3. distress n. /v. 痛苦

　　I pray that you will have pity on my distress.

　　我请求你可怜可怜我的不幸遭遇。

　　Dont distress yourself about it.

　　别为那件事苦恼了。

　　4. diverse a. 多样的

　　The program deals with subjects as diverse as pop music and Beijing Opera.

　　节目涉及从流行音乐到京剧这样形形色色的题材。

　　5. document v. 证明

　　He can document his theory with facts.

　　他能为自己的理论提供事实证明。

　　6. dominate v. 支配

　　He desires to dominate over others.

　　他很想支配别人。

　　7. drain v. 排走;耗尽;

　　They drain the swamp and turn it into fertile land.

　　他们排干沼泽地的水,将它变成了肥沃的土地。

　　She felt drained of energy.

　　她感到精疲力竭。

　　8. discard v. 丢弃

　　词义辨析：discard, scrap, shed

　　discard: 指把具体的东西抛掉不要，着重扔、丢的动作。

　　scrap: 指抛弃过时，不再有用的东西。

　　shed: 指毛发、皮肤、叶等经过某种自然的过程而脱落。

　　Dont discard the drink cans carelessly.

　　不要随意丢弃饮料罐。

　　9. exaggerate v. 夸大

　　The seriousness of the situation has been much exaggerated by the press.

　　形势的严重性被报纸夸大了。

　　10. exploit v. 利用

　　You must exploit all your spare time to learn English.

　　你必须利用一切空闲时间来学习英语。
