　　President Barack Obama, who made big strides using social media to rally supporters in his 2008 campaign, appears ready to rally his base once again via social media.

　　Moments ago, Obama tweeted the above message, Today, were filing papers to launch our 2012 campaign. Say, that youre in: The tweet included a link to a short video with tributes from his 2008 supporters.

　　Obamas team clearly realizes it appears early to start the 2012 campaign and followed with this tweet:

　　Obama also posted a similar announcement message to his nearly 19 million fans on Facebook.

　　In addition to using social media to share his intentions, Obamas team alerted supporters the old-fashioned way via email with a link to the campaign video.
