　　1. When they get sick, we transfer them to a hospital, where children are forbidden to visit terminally ill patients even when those patients are their parents.

　　【译文】当他们生病了，我们把他们送进医院，不允许孩子们探访生病的亲属，即使是探访父母也不可以。

　　【析句】本例句是较典型的多个从句相结合的复合句。先看主句we transfer them to a hospital,主句前when they get sick是时间状语从句，主句后where children are forbidden...patients作a hospital 的定语从句，最后又是when引导的时间状语从句。

　　2. This deprives the dying patient of significant family members during the last few days of his life and it deprives the children of an experience of death, which is an important learning experience.

　　【译文】这剥夺了垂死病人与重要家人共同度过他们生命中最后时光的权利，也剥夺了孩子面对的经历，这是一种重要的学习体验。

　　【析句】句子主干为This deprives the dying patient of...and it deprives the children of..., and连接主谓相同并列的两个句子，前句为简单句，后句句末which is an important learning experience作非限制性定语从句。

　　3. We found out that patients who had been dealt with death openly and frankly were better able to cope with the approach of death and finally to reach a true stage of acceptance prior to death.

　　【译文】我们发现，坦诚面对死亡的病人能够更好地面对死亡的来临，最后真正地接受死亡，超越死亡。

　　【析句】主句we found out that+宾语从句。宾语从句中，主句patients were better able to cope with...and to reach...,and连接短语able to的两个不定式，而主语patients后who had been dealt with...作定语从句。
