　　一、It enrolls 90,000 students, a statistic used to support its claim to be the largest private university in the country.

　　分析主干：It enrolls 90,000 students, a statistic...

　　句中的a statistic 是对90,000 students 的进一步补充说明，可以算作插入语。used过去分词短语作后置定语，修饰a statistic，一个用来......的数据。

　　译文：它招生人数达9 万，这个数字使其号称是美国最大的私立大学。

　　二、 In a survey conducted for eCornell, the DL division of Cornell University, less than a third of the respondents expected the quality of the online course to be as good as the classroom course.

　　分析主干：... less than a third... expected the quality... to be as good

　　句中两个逗号间的内容是插入成分，用以解释说明eCornell。本句是简单句，谓语部分用了复合宾语，不定式to be...在句中作宾语quality 的补语。as good as...是同级比较结构。

　　译文：在为康奈尔在线做的一次调查中，只有不到三分之一的受访者预计在线课程的质量与在校课程的一样好。

　　分析主干：She stayed...

　　although 引导让步状语从句，more... than 是比较结构。somewhere between... and...结构中，between 短语修饰somewhere。比较结构部分的意思是最多也就具体定位在俄勒冈州东部到怀俄明州西部之间的某个地方。
