BEIJING, May 6 -- The 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, will convene the seventh meeting of its standing committee on June 17-19 in Beijing.
The decision was made Monday at the 20th chairman and vice-chairpersons' meeting of the 13th CPPCC National Committee presided over by Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
The June meeting will mainly hold discussions and make suggestions on promoting high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, according to the statement.
Monday's meeting reviewed and approved in principle the CPPCC National Committee's plan for activities marking the 70th founding anniversary of the CPPCC.
Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said commemorating the anniversary is an important political mission for the CPPCC National Committee this year.
Wang called for efforts to sort out, summarize and carry on the political wisdom and practical experience accumulated over 70 years of glorious development.
The commemoration should be well integrated into this year's work, said Wang, noting that political advisors should study CPPCC theories and its history, conduct self-education, build up consensus and gather momentum for forging ahead during the process.
