“手麻了、打响指”怎么说
生活中有很多英语表达法是你意想不到、却又非常简单的。比如我们今天要讲的这个“手麻了”。 美国口语的趋势是用两三个比较常用的字来代替一个比较少见的字。“手麻了”就可以说成是I can't feel my hands.。手麻掉了,这个“麻”字毫无疑问的可以用numb,所以你可以把这句话说成:My hands are numb. 但是因为前面提到的这个口语简单化驱势,老美们会用 can't feel 这两个比较常用的词来代替 numb。也就是说老美通常是讲:I can't feel my hands. 同样的道理,当你因为蹲太久而脚麻了,就可以说:I can't feel my legs. 或是 My legs fell asleep. 当你吃的东西太辣了,以致于整个嘴巴都麻掉了,这时你可以说:I can't feel my tongue/ mouth. It's too hot. 大家有没有觉得学美语真的很简单?只要记一些简单的字就能变化出许多不同的用法。 折手指和打响指是男孩子们喜欢干的事。先要说清楚,这不是很礼貌的举动。 "折手指"就是knuckle cracking,因为折手指就是把手指关节 (knuckle) 弄得喀喀作响。在Friends里,Joey曾经说过一句话:Does knuckle cracking bother anybody? 如果是用大拇指和食指来发出声音,那就是打响指了,这个在英语中叫做 snap one's fingers。比如你要叫别人不要再打响指,就可以说:Don't snap your fingers.
不过大家知道打响指为什么会发出声音吗?我原来都以为是骨头相互摩擦时产生的声音,后来一个学医的朋友告诉我,那个声音其实是关节里的少量空气因受到挤压而爆裂的声音,很神奇吧。
