Eddie Redmayne is officially starring in Harry PotterMovie Fantastic Beasts。

据官方消息公布，埃迪·雷德梅尼将正式出演《哈利波特》外传系列之《神奇动物在哪里》。

Rumors swirled for months that Redmayne, 33, wasbeing courted for the starring role in the big-screenadaptation of J.K.Rowling's 2001 book. WarnerBros. finally confirmed on Monday, June 1, that theBritish star has signed on for the flick。

Rowling's Wizarding World, where we know he will deliver a remarkable performanceas Newt Scamander, the central character in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The Oscar winner will take on the role of magizoologist and author Newt, whose work latermakes its way to the halls of Hogwarts. The flick will take place decades before Harry Potter'sfamed story, but is not serving as a direct prequel to the seven books and eight movies。

David Yates has been booked to helm the upcoming movie. The celebrated filmmakerpreviously led Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-BloodPrince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Parts 1 and 2.
