Hello, my name is Christine. I am the human resources manager of an investment company. Our company is mainly dealing with the corporate finance and also fixed income businesses and our employees are recruited from a number of countries in the world.

Err... yes. I met one candidate before. He was very impressive because, like, he has very full preparation on our company during the interview and he conduct, like, good research on the company's core business and also the industry. He was not only, like, memorising and telling the interviewer all the financial figures like robot. I could see that he did a lot of homework on our company. And on himself, he greet and also with a firm handshake with the interviewer and also a smile - very sincere. And also he close the interview also by very warm handshake and also a genuine thank-you. So... and also... like... on himself, he has a very thorough preparation, for example, he listen and also think very carefully before he's answering the questions and also he speak very clearly and confidently. Also he use, like... very practical examples to illustrate his skills and show that he suit the role and also the company. And also, I can see that he show very... like... eagerness on... for the role. So that's the most impressed... like... candidate I have met so far.

Err... in fact I have met two candidates. There were two cases. One of the candidates is too arrogant. The candidate... like... was talking too much, like pride about himself and how capable he was... looks like that sooner or later he will become to CEO of the company. I think... like... most employers prefer... like... humble type rather than arrogant type. I think the employer... like... can find out how capable the candidate will be if they decide to give them a job offer. So I don't think... like... boast yourself is the best approach during the interview.

And another candidate also... who messed up during the interview process is too shy. The candidate was too shy to talk and only provide one-word answer. So we don't have any chance to explore... like... further on a candidate's experience and also ability.

Erm... first is the body language... like... whether the candidate is keeping an eye contact with the interviewer so it can tell that whether he or she is attentive to the interview.

And the second thing is... I think it's quite important is the... wrapping up the interview. So because normally... like... during the end of interview, we'll ask whether they have question for the company. If the candidate is really eager for the job, for the role and for the company, they will definitely ask for some like... question that is related to the job. I can see that sometimes some candidates even saying that they don't have much question for the job or for the role... so... it means that he is not that interested to our company.

Besides, we would also like to know the candidate's character so we can see whether the candidate can fit in the company culture and also the department culture.

Erm... there are a few things. First, avoid one-word answers because the interviewer expects you to proceed further on an open-end question. Second is don't boast yourself to talk too much, pride about yourself what you can do unless you are interviewing a sales position. The third thing is rush to talk before the interviewer finish his questions.

I think the answer should be - "no" - that mean don't answer "no" as no one is perfect. So when you talk about your weaknesses, just talk something on the very positive side. For example, you can make positive steps to adjust if your certain ability is not at the level it could be, just state a... state as a weakness but tell the interviewer that the training course or accumulated experience can help to improve your skills in the future.
