grouchy “脾气坏的”、 “喜欢抱怨的”。

The boss has been in a bad mood since this morning.

be in a bad mood “心情不好”。

我老板今天心情很好。

My boss is in a good mood today.

(我老板今天心情很好。)

It’s about time.

(总算好了。)

in a good mood “心情好”。

My boss is feeling good today.

My boss is in rare form today.

(我老板今天心情出奇地好。)

in form “心情好”。

反意为：My boss is in a bad mood today.

(我老板今天心情不好。)

我看见我们老板在一家酒吧喝了太多的酒。

(他看见你了吗?)

see ... ...ing “看见……正在……”。

I saw the boss at a bar drinking too much.

I ran into the boss at a bar. He was on a drinking binge.

(我在酒吧碰见了老板。他狂饮不止。)

binge “随心所欲”、 “狂饮作乐”。

他把一笔个人消费记到了消费账户。

Why is he in trouble?

(他有什么麻烦了?)

He billed a personal item to his expense account.

(他把一笔个人消费记到了消费账户。)

bill “把……登账”。a personal item “个人项目”。expense account “ (公司负担的)交际费”、 “消

费账户”。

charge “记账”。

He got caught dozing.

这里的catch指“看见”。doze “打瞌睡”。

Shame on ... “……是可耻的”。

He was caught sleeping.

He was napping on the job.

(他工作的时候打盹儿。)

nap “打盹儿”。

他昨晚参加了一个鸡尾酒会。

Mr. Smith looks so tired today.

(史密斯先生今天看起来很疲劳。)

He attended a cocktail party last night.

(他昨晚参加了一个鸡尾酒会。)

attend “出席(会等)”。

He went to a cocktail party last night.

He was at a cocktail party last night.
