LONDON, July 8 -- Premier League giant Chelsea has appointed Michael Emenalo as the club's new technical director, announced the London side on Friday.

Emenalo, 45, will work with the Blues' new manager Andre Villas-Boas, who joined Chelsea on a three-year contract from F.C. Porto of Portugal.

Besides, the former Nigeria international Emenalo will lead the club's international and domestic scouting network just as he did when he joined the club in 2007.
