夏天

妈妈说夏天是一幅画。是谁画上了小河，是谁画上了青蛙，是谁画上了岩石，是全世界的人民。

My mother says summer is a picture. Who painted the river, who painted the frog, who painted the rock, is the people of the world.

爸爸说夏天时昆虫的天地。到了晚上是蛐蛐的天地，到了白天是知了的天地。

Dad said that in summer, it's the world of insects. To the night is the cricket world, to the day is the world of knowledge.

爷爷说夏天时钓鱼的好时候。我问爷爷为什么，因为夏天老下雨，下雨之前鱼都往上跳，有的找食物，所以夏天是钓鱼的好时候。

Grandpa says it's a good time to fish in summer. I asked grandpa why, because it rained all the time in summer. Before it rained, fish jumped up and some looked for food. So summer is a good time to fish.

姥姥说夏天是做冰棒的好时候。因为夏天很热，我姥姥把西瓜瓤弄成圆形，然后把西瓜放进冰箱里。

Grandma said that summer is a good time to make popsicles. Because it's very hot in summer, my grandma round the watermelon pulp and put it in the refrigerator.

我说夏天是昆虫的天地，青蛙在水里叫，小鱼在水里跳，它们好像在说早上好；知了在树上叫，小鸟在树上叫，它们好像在说中午好。

I say that summer is the world of insects, frogs call in the water, small fish jump in the water, they seem to say good morning; cicadas call in the tree, birds call in the tree, they seem to say good noon.
