体坛英语资讯：Real Madrid confirm signing of Altintop from Bayern Munich

MADRID, May 19 -- Real Madrid on Thursday confirmed the signing of Turkish international Hamit Altintop from German side Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old utility player has agreed a four-year contract with the Spanish giants, becoming Real Madrid's second signing in preparation for next season after the arrival of Nuri Sahim from Borussia Dortmund last week.

Altintop can play on either the right side of midfield or in defense and is a hard-working competitive player very much in the style admired by Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.

Although Altintop was born in Germany, he decided to represent the Turkish national team and has made 64 international appearances in which he has scored a total of six goals.

He has played his club football in Germany, spending four seasons with Schalke 04 before joining Bayern Munich in 2007. His four years with Bayern saw him win two Bundesleague titles and two German cups as well as the German Supercup and League Cup.

The only time that Altintop, who only made 24 appearances for his club this campaign, has played in Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium was in the final of last season's Champions League, which Bayern lost to an Inter Milan side that was then coached by Mourinho.

Meanwhile striker Emmanuel Adebayor's future at Real Madrid is still uncertain after his agent David Dean held a meeting with the club on Thursday morning. Adebayor is currently on loan from Manchester City until the end of June and Madrid appear to be interested in making the move permanent, but are unwilling to pay the $22 million dollars the English side want in order to complete the deal.
