学擀饺子皮

过年了，我们家要吃饺子。

It's new year's day. Our family will have dumplings.

大年三十的中午，妈妈在厨房里包饺子，爸爸笨手笨脚地在擀饺子皮。我说：“妈妈，让我学擀饺子皮吧。”妈妈高兴的说：“好啊，女孩子就应该学学做饭。”妈妈让我用左手捏住切好的面团，右手拿住擀面杖在面团上滚动，左手不停的转手中的面团，转两圈一个饺子皮就擀成了。妈妈先给我示范了几遍，然后让我学。开始，我总也擀不好，不是太厚了就是太薄了，我恨自己笨。妈妈说：“别灰心，多擀几次就学会了，熟能手巧。”于是我有了信心，渐渐地我越擀越好，终于掌握了擀饺子皮的技巧。我真高兴！

On the noon of new year's Eve, my mother made dumplings in the kitchen, and my father fumbled in rolling out the dumpling skin. I said, "Mom, let me learn to roll the dumpling skin." Mom said happily, "OK, girls should learn to cook." My mother asked me to hold the cut dough with my left hand, hold the rolling pin in my right hand and roll on the dough. My left hand kept turning the dough in my hand, turning two circles of a dumpling skin and rolling it. My mother first demonstrated it to me several times, and then let me learn. At first, I always said "no, it's either too thick or too thin. I hate being stupid.". Mom said, "don't lose heart. Just roll it out a few times and you'll learn how to handle it." So I have confidence, gradually I roll better and better, and finally mastered the skill of rolling dumpling skin. I'm so happy!
