企鹅

我喜欢的动物有：海豚、虎鲸、海龟、企鹅……，而我最喜欢的是企鹅。企鹅的家乡在遥远的南极。

My favorite animals are: dolphins, orcas, turtles, penguins And my favorite is penguin. Penguin's hometown is in the far south pole.

有一次，姥爷、姐姐和我去极地海洋世界参观。我们看完动物表演，就去看企鹅。

Once, my grandfather, sister and I went to visit the polar ocean world. After watching the animal show, we went to see penguins.

小企鹅大约二十厘米左右，大的也只不过四十几厘米高。 它们有的站在雪地上左顾右盼，有的踱来踱去，有的在雪上滑行，有在水中游泳，好一副繁忙景象。 站在那儿的企鹅好像在讨论什么事情，交头接耳的，我想，它们该不是在商量如何回到家乡去吧？它们当中有几十只企鹅头部两侧有黄色的毛，非常有趣。后来我查了资料才知它们与其它的不是同一家族，它们是角企鹅。

企鹅走起路来一摇一摆的，像穿着燕尾服的小绅士，非常好玩，我去跟它们打招呼，但它们对我不理不睬，一副旁若无人的样子。

The penguins walk like little gentlemen in tuxedos. It's very fun. I'll say hello to them, but they don't pay attention to me. They look like nobody else.

几只企鹅在雪上滑行，它们的白肚皮贴在雪面上，有时翅膀展开，像飞机在跑道上滑行，有时翅膀收拢，像小船在水面上飘荡，它们的滑雪技术比滑雪运动员还棒。

A few penguins glide on the snow. Their white bellies are pasted on the snow. Sometimes their wings are spread out, like airplanes gliding on the runway, sometimes their wings are folded up, like boats floating on the water. Their skiing skills are better than those of skiers.

大企鹅游泳速度较快，小企鹅的速度慢多了，但它们不甘落后，跟在大企鹅身后划动着翅膀，我想，它们大概是在学习游泳，用不了多久，它们也会像它们的爸爸妈妈一样出色的。

The big Penguin swims faster, and the little penguin swims more slowly, but they don't want to fall behind. They are following the big penguin with their wings. I think they are probably learning to swim. Before long, they will be as good as their parents.

据说，企鹅妈妈孵卵时，把两脚合拢，蛋放在两脚上，给卵中的小宝宝提供热量，企鹅爸爸就在水中不停的寻找食物，喂给企鹅妈妈，直到企鹅宝宝顺利孵出。它们真是伟大的爸爸妈妈。

It is said that when the mother Penguin hatches, she closes her feet and places the egg on her feet to provide heat for the baby in the egg. The father Penguin keeps searching for food in the water and feeds it to the mother until the baby penguin hatches successfully. They are great parents.
