小实验

今天上午，我和爷爷做了一个小实验。

This morning, Grandpa and I did a little experiment.

首先，拿一个大碗，点燃一根蜡烛（短的），用蜡烛油把蜡烛固定在碗底上。接着，把红色的水倒进大碗里（不要太多）。然后，把透明的玻璃杯罩在蜡烛上。过了一会儿，蜡烛就灭了，杯子里的水面升高了。

First, take a big bowl, light a candle (short one), and fix the candle on the bottom of the bowl with candle oil. Then, pour the red water into the big bowl (not too much). Then, put the transparent glass over the candle. After a while, the candle went out and the water in the cup Rose.

这个小实验告诉我们，氧气能够帮助燃烧，氧气用完了，蜡烛就会灭的。这时杯子里的气压比外面的低，水被压到杯子里去。所以，杯子里的水面升高了。

This little experiment tells us that oxygen can help burn. When oxygen is used up, the candle will go out. At this time, the air pressure in the cup is lower than that outside, and the water is pressed into the cup. So, the water in the cup rises.

今天的小实验好有趣呀！以后，我还要请爷爷教做更多的实验。
